A million pounds of debris collected in just three hours—this year, let’s make it more! With 850 cleanup sites around the state, there’s no reason why everyone can’t take part in the California Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19.Thousands of Californians join together to make a difference for the coast, and sometimes find strange and unusual items among the trash. We talk with Eben Schwartz, Marine Debris Program Manager, California Coastal Commission, who describes California’s largest annual volunteer event and how you can participate in this celebration of our coast and the resources we all want to protect.
Everyday Action: Visit coastalcleanupday.org to find a cleanup site near you. Then join the cleanup on September 19!
